FIVE fire engines were needed to extinguish a fire involving lithium batteries.
Crews from Hyndburn and Blackburn with Darwen rushed to a fire on Ashworth Street in Rishton at lunchtime on Saturday.
Firefighters used a hose reel and ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
It is believed that the fire took hold in a business premises and involved batteries.
A spokesman said: “Five fire engines from Hyndburn, Blackburn and Darwen attended a fire involving lithium batteries in a commercial building on Ashworth Street in Rishton. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.”
