Taken at the turn of the last century, this photograph shows Union Road in Oswaldtwistle which back then could perhaps lay claim to being the pub capital of East Lancashire. In the centre of the picture is the Castle Arms, one of 26 pubs which were situated along this main route through the town Union Road, Oswaldtwistle at that time
