A FILM aiming to showcase Lancashire and redefine what the county represents has been created and is available to view.

The film, created by Bury-based Bigtank Productions for Lancashire County Council, uses footage captured by a variety of local film makers from over the last 12 months and aims to tell the story of what the county stands for, where it has come from and where it is going in the future.

The film highlights the many positive stories and messages of projects in Lancashire covering investments in areas of businesses, sustainability and infrastructure that really emphasis why the producers believe that Lancashire is a thriving place now with lots more to come in the years ahead.

Lancashire County Council strategic communications manager Suzie Evans said: "This video has managed to tell a powerful story of Lancashire over the past few years, and more importantly, the exciting vision and passion we have for the future in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Lancashire has a lot to offer for anyone looking to invest in our beautiful, vibrant county."

Leading the project was Bigtank head of production Rob Mumford, who has been with the company for over seven years.

He said: "This project had an exciting, engaging message from the start and we had access to some superb footage of the county.

"All the ingredients we needed to tell a great story."

This comes not long after the county council launched its Rediscover Lancashire campaign, which aims to encourage people to return to the hospitality and tourism industry.

County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Growth Aidy Riggott said: "We are really proud to be showcasing the best of Lancashire's hospitality and tourism and everything that our fabulous county has to offer, from our well-known destinations to our hidden treasures and as yet undiscovered gems - we have everything you could possibly wish for!

"As the final set of restrictions are removed, we want to encourage everybody across Lancashire to reacquaint themselves with their favourite destinations that they might not have visited for a while and go in search of some new ones, there is so much yet for us all to discover.

"Clearly we want to encourage everyone to continue to act in a safe and responsible manner and to spend time, and hopefully a little money, enjoying some of what Lancashire has to offer in a setting that is comfortable for them."
