A councillor is urging residents to get in touch if they spot anything in their neighbourhood that may need fixing.

Cllr Salim Sidat said the council would do what they could to improve the area if they are alerted to the problem.

It follows reports of a filthy bus stop outside the Noorul Islam mosque on Audley Range by a concerned resident. It was cleaned during the same week.

Later, a resident reported a damaged lamp post on Walter Street. This was fixed on the very day.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Cllr Sidat said: “When a resident reports something to myself I manage to get it done as soon as possible.

“We have to make sure it is reported to the right people and if it is not repaired on the same day I follow it up every other day to make sure it is done as quick as possible.

“Working together we can make our area a lot better.

“And please remember I am not a mind reader! Unless you talk to me and let me know then it is very difficult to keep an eye on everything.”
