BBC Radio 1 presenter, Jordan North, has been up to mischief on the radio this week for a new radio segment.

Burnley's Jordan North has taken fellow presenters, Greg James and Vick Hope to Blackpool for a ‘Summer Break Out Challenge’.

Announced last week, Radio 1’s Summer Break was tipped as the ultimate UK summer holiday that Greg was due to go on today (Tuesday, 20 July), with fellow presenters Vick Hope and Jordan North.

All three presenters were due to be visiting popular UK holiday destinations and co-hosting the Radio 1 Breakfast Show live from the Radio 1 Campervan for some proper holiday fun.

However, unbeknownst to Greg, Jordan and Vick have been plotting Radio 1’s Summer Break Out challenge instead.

Last night (19 July),  Greg was locked inside the Radio 1 Campervan and shown a video message from Jordan which revealed that he is now locked in the campervan and his only way of escape is to enter a password that Jordan has chosen.

Greg, with the help of Radio 1 listeners, will have to solve a series of clues which will be revealed along their trip (starting in Blackpool) and work out which word links all of the clues together.

Once Greg thinks he’s got the password, he’ll need to enter it into the keypad to be granted freedom.

Speaking about Blackpool on yesterday’s breakfast show, Jordan North said he had fond memories of the town.

He said: “It’s the most magical of place- I went there so many times as a child.

“We used to spend weekends there, I used to go in my grandma’s caravan there.

“It really is a great place- a proper British seaside town.”

The presenters have already been having fun on the coastal town- apart from Greg James that is, who is still trapped in the campervan.

Vick Hope has been asked to read out a clue- while riding a Blackpool Pleasure Beach rollercoaster.

Jordan has even been braving some of the rides and he can be seen screaming for his “happy place” while the ride is in motion.

Posting to Twitter, he said “This [ride] is for kids! Jeez!”

In the clip he can be seen trying to find his “happy place, happy place, Turf Moor” as he swallows down his fear on the Avatar Airbender.

Listen to Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James (7am-10.30am) and Radio 1 throughout the day all week for updates on Radio 1’s Summer Break Out.
