A new dessert parlour is set to open next to the German Doner Kebab (GDK) Restaurant in Blackburn.

The 60-seater ‘Little Dessert Shop’ will open at the Eanam location following a £400,000 makeover. The brand has more than 25 branches across the UK but this will be the first to open in Lancashire.

Signage and branding went up at the site recently which is set to create 15 jobs. It is hoped it will be able to welcome diners for the time in September.

A spokesperson for the Blackburn branch told us: “We are delighted to be bringing the award-winning Little Dessert Shop to Blackburn.

“The restaurant will be located next to the German Doner Kebab Restaurant and we are hoping to open to diners from September.

“Little Dessert Shop is something completely different and we can’t wait to welcoming guests from across Lancashire.”

The 101-seater GDK restaurant opened in April and was the brand’s 56th site in the UK.
Renovations on the Eanam building which was formerly the Maida Restaurant began in September 2019 and glass frontage and redevelopments complete earlier this year. The building will also host a wedding hall and events venue on the second floor. This will be run separately from the GDK restaurant and the ‘Little Dessert Shop’.
