A MAN went on a drunken wrecking spree after drinking more than he was used to.
Blackburn magistrates heard Ryan Tony McKenzie knocked the wing mirrors off 10 cars as he made his way along Colne Road and Hind Street in Burnley.
The court was told the total bill for his spree was over £2,300.
McKenzie, 26, of Wharfedale Avenue, Reedley, pleaded guilty to 10 charges of criminal damage. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 80 hours' unpaid work and ordered to pay £1,000 compensation.
The court heard McKenzie had been out drinking with friends and had much more than he was used to. He claimed it was the first time he had been out drinking in a year.
Duncan Nightingale, defending, said there was absolutely no "rhyme or reason" for his client's behaviour.
"He doesn't normally drink, he got drunk and he caused this damage for absolutely no reason," said Mr Nightingale. "There was no vendetta against anybody, it was simply a foolish thing to do while he was intoxicated.
