Rossendale: Promedica24 to recruit 100 live-in carers

Promedica24, which has an office in Rossendale, says that the 100 newly recruited carers will work across Lancashire and North Yorkshire, while nationwide it hopes to increase its staff by around 2000 people.

The company says it is prepared to offer training to help new staff members learn to support older and vulnerable people maintain their independence in their own homes.

Sales and marketing director Darren Housden said: "Awareness of live-in care has increased during the pandemic as we’ve seen a significant rise in demand of people wanting full-time support at home.

"Live-in care has proven to be a safer alternative to care homes, especially when we are talking about limiting the spread of infectious diseases and enhancing people’s mental wellbeing by enabling them to stay in familiar surroundings.

"It’s understandable that families want to explore this option after the events of the last 12 to 18 months."

He added: "However, candidates should remember that the job comes with a great level of responsibility and requires certain personality traits, such as empathy, resilience and patience, to be able to adequately support the physical and emotional needs of those most vulnerable."
