A CARE home has been rated good by the CQC.

Bosses at Pendle Brook Care Home, part of the Rochcare group, said the consistent hard work of its staff has been recognised through an official rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The home in Oswaldtwistle, cares for people aged 65 and over and those living with age related difficulties and dementia.

The home’s inspection was carried out on June 23 and resulted in an overall rating of Good in all five areas - safe, well-led, effective, caring and responsive.

CQC praised the home, reporting that the people being cared for there, and their relatives, described staff as very good, caring, amazing and hardworking.

The home was also rated good for their safety measures in response to coronavirus, which include thorough cleaning of surfaces, extensive use of PPE and regular testing for staff, residents and all visitors to the home.

Area manager for Rochcare, Lin Spencer, described the result as "a moment of pride for myself and the whole Pendle Brook team."

She said: “Pendle Brook is a truly unique place to work. The ladies and gentlemen who live there are exceptionally well cared for and this result really reflects the hard work and dedication every member of the team shows everyday.

"The facilities at Pendle Brook are stunning, but it’s the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff that I get the most comments about."
