Three people had to be rescued from a first floor window during a house fire, which police believe was set deliberately.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and information after the arson attack which took place on Fair Oak Close, Ribbleton in Preston in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The fire service were called to the property at 2.53am and found a fire in the hallway of the house.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the property and extinguished the flames.
Three occupants had to be rescued from the house via a first storey window before being assessed by paramedics.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Police are currently appealing for witnesses or information following an arson on Fair Oak Close, Ribbleton, Preston in the early hours of Saturday July 10.
"With the help of the fire service and local residents the three occupants within the house were rescued unharmed.
"Did you see anyone suspicious?
"Do you have any information that could help the police with their enquiries?
"Do you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the Fair Oak Close area at around 3am?"
A joint investigation between the police and fire service is now underway.
