A PERSON was rescued from the roof of a single storey building earlier today, with three fire engines called to the scene.

Fire crews from Hyndburn and Rawtenstall stations were called to the scene on Frederick Street, Oswaldtwistle at just after midday on Friday July 9.

Also on the scene was a dog unit, a technical rope rescue team and an urban search and rescue team.

The firefighters were able to lower the person to safety from the roof.

Crews remained on the scene for around an hour.
