THE search is on to find East Lancashire’s next young singing star.

Pop Up Entertainment, the Blackburn-based entertainment specialist, is holding a series of auditions throughout July and August as part of its Search for a Star.

Singers aged between four and 18 are eligible and the finalists will be brought together for a special show at Blackburn’s Empire Theatre on Sunday, September 12.

The winner will receive a £200 cash prize, one-to-one singing lessons with Pop Up’s vocal coach and a chance to perform at one of Pop Up’s Christmas events.

Pop Up Entertainment has provided festive shows for the likes of the Trafford Centre and been involved in Blackburn’s Christmas lights switch-on and works with leading cruise lines.

Pop Up’s associate director Laura White said: “Everyone has had such a hard time recently and we wanted to celebrate the talented youngsters that are out there and give something back.

“It’s an opportunity for them to get back on stage and showcase their talent.”

Auditions are being held at Pop Up’s studios on Tontine Street, Blackburn, and will be held in relaxed, informal surroundings. They will run until the end of August but must be booked in advance.
