LEGENDARY vocal group The Drifters are to play two special warm-up shows at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall next week.
The group have confirmed two last-minute gigs at the venue next Friday and Saturday as warm-up shows for a UK tour which begins at the end of the month.
This will be a rare chance to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act in intimate surroundings as this will be the last event at St Mary’s Chambers that are required to take place to socially distanced audiences.
The group which has been performing for more than 65 years features a revitalised line up hand-picked by Tina Treadwell, daughter of George Treadwell who founded the group with Clyde McPhatter, and owner of The Drifters name.
Expect all the hits including Saturday Night at the Movies, Come on Over to My Place and Under the Boardwalk
