A newlywed couple are heartbroken after a series of 'attacks' on their animals.
James and Bethany Cook, who own a smallholding in Brierfield, were devastated after some of their animals have been killed and poisoned over the past six weeks.
The couple, who got married in May, have seen unexpected vet bills racking up leading them to set up a GoFundMe page to help with the unexpected expenses.
James, 24, said: "These incidents keep happening, it’s a kick in the teeth.
"Especially when it's the animals that are getting injured - the animals haven't done anything to anyone.
"It has been a bit scary. I wondered if there was any point carrying on because at one point, I thought all the animals will be dead..
"I wake up at night and worry about them. Is someone down there doing something to them? Am I going to wake up and find them all dead or find them all missing?"
The couple went down to their smallholding on May 17 and found one of their turkeys had had its head ripped off.
Since then, there have had a number of incidents, with the worst being when one of their pigs became very unwell, haemorrhaging from the nose and eyes.
The vet suspected that the pig had been poisoned and that there was nothing that could be done to save it.
Another incident saw their goat become ill which a vet also suspected to be a poisoning.
After that, one of their rescue pigs became very ill and unfortunately could not be saved.
They have also had four ducklings go missing however the couple are unsure whether this was another incident or whether it was down to one of the other animals on the holding.
If you would like to donate to the GoFundMe page you can do so by searching 'Help fund our vet costs and loss of livestock' on the website.
