A BLACKBURN car dealership has unveiled a new partnership to supply parts for one of the region's most established motor sport teams.

The deal will see Bowker Motor Group's BMW centre, based on Trident Park, Blackburn, become the official parts provider for the Car Gods with Ciceley Motorsport Race Team, while also supplying the team with two sponsored cars.

This comes at the start of Car Gods with Ciceley Motorsport’s first Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship driving BMW 3 Series with drivers Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan, who last weekend claimed the ninth victory of his BTCC career, in the round 9 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship race.

Bowker Motor Group director Chris Eccles said: "We’ve watched Ciceley Motorsport’s successes over the years with great interest.

"We love to see other Lancashire families flying the flag for the county on the national stage.

"Ciceley Motorsport team’s switch to BMW presented the perfect opportunity to agree a closer relationship with the team.

"We are excited to be involved and can’t wait to be part of the fun as this year’s British Touring Car Championship story takes shape."

Bowker and Ciceley, also based in Blackburn are both extremely well established, having been in business for over 100 years and almost 50 years respectively.

Bowker Motor Group’s sister company Bowker Transport is also a customer of Ciceley Commercials.

The partnership means that the Blackburn car dealership has now joined other Car Gods with Ciceley Motorsport sponsors including North West-based Car Gods, Tetrosyl and Nitrox Fuel Additives.

Ciceley Motorsport driver Adam Morgan, part of the third generation of his family to run the company, said that the local connection was key to choosing Bowker as partners.

He said: "Both our families go way back, it goes beyond business.

"My grandad Brian Morgan and Bill Bowker were great friends.

"Subsequent generations have grown up together, and both families make no secret of our shared passion for Lancashire and motorsport.

"That’s why Bowker BMW’s support for this 2021 British Touring Car Championship season means so much."
