A man has been arrested on suspicion of dealing drugs in a licensed premises.
Officers from Ribble Valley Rural Taskforce were called reports of a man suspected to be dealing drugs at a premises in Clitheroe yesterday evening (June 26).
Upon being asked to leave by the staff the man refused.
He was detained by officers and arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply to others.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Earlier this evening, officers from Ribble Valley Rural Taskforce, Immediate Response and Neighhourhood Policing Team were called to a licenced premise in Clitheroe.
“This is following reports of a male suspected to be dealing drugs to other customers at said location and refusing to leave when requested by staff.
“A male was detained by officers and subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply to others.
“A quantity of drugs was recovered from the arrested male and he is currently in Police Custody awaiting interview.”
