AN APPEAL is underway after a burglar broke into a house before fleeing empty handed after being disturbed by the occupant.
The would-be thief broke into the house on Park Avenue, Clitheroe on Tuesday June 22 between 12.30pm and 1pm via an insecure door at the back.
He searched a bag before fleeing and according to police is white, around five feet ten inches tall and was wearing a pale blue short sleeved shirt, grey shorts and gardening gloves.
A police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Park Avenue or Waddington Road between 12:30pm and 1:00pm who may have seen this male or have CCTV/dashcam which may assist us with our investigation."
They added: "I would also ask for the public to please be vigilant around securing doors and report any suspicious behaviour in the area."
