TRAINS and electrical cables were damaged earlier this month after a paving stone was thrown from a rail over road bridge.
The stone was thrown overnight on Saturday June 5 from a bridge near Lostock Hall railway station just outside Preston.
A total of nine passing trains were damaged which, along with the damaged electrical cables, led to just under £20,000 lost in disruption costs.
British Transport Police are now appealing for witnesses to help them find the culprit.
Anyone with any information can text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 207 of June 5 2021.
Alternatively witnesses can anonymously call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
