A ROAD was partially blocked yesterday evening after a collision involving several vehicles.
Police from Ribble Valley Rural Task force arrived on the scene on Mitton Road, Mitton, near the Aspinall Arms pub on Monday June 21.
There they dealt with what had become a potentially dangerous situation.
A police spokesperson said: "The road was partially blocked by the vehicles involved which came to rest in a dangerous location on a blind bend on the national speed limit road.
"Whilst dealing with the incident and carrying out traffic management we had further cause to deal with the rider of a motor scooter for a crazy error of judgement!
"This motor scooter rider only had a provisional licence, was travelling at speed and was carrying a pillion passenger who wasn't wearing a helmet, not only did this put both himself and the passenger at significant risk it is also against the law.
"He has now seen the error of his ways having been reported for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence!"
The road has since been fully reopened.
