A DRIVER will appear in court after hitting eye-watering speeds on one of the county’s most dangerous roads.

An officer inside a safety camera enforcement vehicle captured a car being driven at 95mph on the A59 on Sunday – more than 30mph over the limit.

The driver will now appear in court where they will be dealt with for their speeding.

The mobile speeding van was positioned on the road close to Sawley.

A spokesman urged people to think about their driving. A statement read: “Whilst enforcing on A59 at Sawley (60mph limit), one of our Safety Camera Enforcement Vehicles has detected one vehicle travelling at 95mph.

“That person will now get invited to court to discuss their speed. Please slow down and get to your destination safely.”
