A man has been ordered to pay £279 in compensation after stealing Lenor pods, a DNA test kit, sweets, whisky and razor blades from several shops across Accrington.

Kristian Jordan Keenan, 29, entered guilty pleas to seven theft offences at Preston Magistrates Court on April 8, after he was caught stealing the random items between August 27 2020 and September 11 2020.

The court heard how on August 27, Keenan stole Ariel pods, a DNA test and car oil, to the value of £42.56, belonging to Home Bargains, Eastgate retail park, Accrington, and just two days later stole a case of red bull, worth £43, from Tesco Express, Abbey street, Accrington.

Then on September 2 he stole £40 worth of Razor blades from Asda on Hyndburn Road, before taking more razors to the same value from the same supermarket on September 4, as well as a packet of sweets from Home Bargains worth £36.

Prosecutors also told the court how on September 11, just a week later, Keenan stole whisky worth £28 from Aldi on Argyle Street and then lenor pods, to the value of £49.90, from Home Bargains.

Keenan, of North Cliffe Street, Preston, was handed a community order, a 10 week electronic curfew between the hours of 9pm and 7am, and ordered to carry out 30 days rehabilitation requirement.

He was also ordered to pay a total of £279.46
