TWINS who run a popular bakery shared their excitement as the launch day for their first recipe book looms closer.

Rachel Finch and Lauren Sinclair run Finch Bakery in Queen Street, Great Harwood.

They will be releasing their book — Finch Bakery: Sweet and Simple Homemade Treats and Showstopper Celebration Cakes — with DK Publishing on August 5, with copies available now for pre-order.

They said: “We are excited to be launching our first recipe book, something we have enjoyed writing so much.

“We have developed easy to follow recipes, from brownies and cookies to elaborate celebration cake techniques, written in simple, achievable steps — even revealing some of our secrets!"

The sisters are well-known for their showstopper cakes and bakes, amassing 142,000 followers on Instagram and 79,000 on Facebook.

During lockdown their home delivery service became the place to order sweet treats from online, selling out of thousands and thousands of brownie trays, cupcakes, “cakeaways” and cake jars every day within minutes of release.

The book itself is packed with 75 foolproof recipes for cupcakes, scones, cookies, cake balls, cake jars, tray bakes, no-bake cakes and celebration cakes - an essential recipe book for any cake enthusiast.

The twins added: “Starting out being self taught from our parents' kitchen over five years ago, to owning our own cake shop and running our online business has been a dream for us.

“We’ve written this for all the people who have followed our bakery antics and real life since day one, those who have joined us along the way, and those who might find us and be inspired to start their own baking journey.”

The book will include 75 recipes, including the classics - victoria sponge, carrot cake, chocolate fudge cake, scones and macarons to new favourites like red velvet cake, cookie cups and Nutella everything.

Other featured recipes include Creme Egg cake, sticky toffee pudding cake, Lotus Biscoff cake, S’mores brownie pie, cinnamon roll scones, Nutella stuffed cookies, and strawberry doughnut macarons.

Readers will learn basic baking techniques before exploring indulgent flavour combinations. The methods behind tempering chocolate, applying buttercream and making the perfect chocolate ganache are all described step by step.
