A fitness instructor is holding a free charity work-out this weekend to celebrate Pride Month.

Burnley-girl Sammy Harper started an online fitness class during lockdown after graduating from a musical theatre college as lockdown began in March 2020.

On Saturday (June 19) at 9am, she is running an charity fundraising online class which is open to 100 people with Sammy asking that people who join donates to LGBTQ+ charity, Gendered Intelligence.

She said: “If you want to get involved in a fun and high energy workout and celebrate the Pride Month for a great cause - then sign up instructions are @harper.uk on Instagram.”

Members of Sammy’s class, Blitz by Harper, will be in fancy dress for the fundraiser with people being encouraged to sign up and enjoy themselves.

After graduating and being unsure where to go because of lockdown, Sammy started doing online workouts.

While classes moved onto Zoom, Sammy built up an active online fitness community and people started to join from all over the world.

Sammy added: “I can’t believe something I just started in my front room has grown to something which is now literally and truly across the globe.

“I love my Team Blitz - they’re not just members, I feel like we've become a family!"
