A 29-year-old who was arrested for burgling shops in a town centre will stand trial after pleading not guilty to the offences.

Lee Quinn, of Russell Street, Bacup, was arrested on June 5 in connection with a number of shop burglaries in Bacup town centre back in May.

Following his arrest, he was charged and remanded to appear before Magistrates on June 7.

Quinn pleaded not guilty to both offences and has been sent to trial in October.

A spokesperson for the police said: "On 5 June we let you know about a male who was arrested following a couple of burglaries at a shop premises in Bacup town centre.

"We can now update you that following this arrest Lee Quinn, a 29-year-old male from Russell Street, Bacup was charged, remanded and put before magistrates the following morning.

"He pleaded not guilty to both offences and will now appear before the court in October for trial.
