Police are offering advice and guidance on bike security this weekend.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be in Corporation Park, Blackburn on Saturday 19 June between 2pm-4pm on the ‘Broadwalk’ where owners can add their bikes to a data base. This is done by placing marks on the frame that are both visible as well as marks that are hidden from view. If a bike is stolen and recovered Police can either check the database or scan the QR code that it generates for the bike.
This opportunity has been made possible thanks to LANPAC who have provided funding for Police to obtain the relevant marking system. If this project is proven to be successful then Police said they will apply for further funding to assist bikers.
The service will be offered on a first come first serve basis on the day.
