A WARNING has been issued to those attending car rallies in and around East Lancashire.
Officers from the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing Team have received several calls regarding unauthorised rallies on the local industrial estates in Altham and Huncoat.
They are now warning asking thinking about attending a rally to think twice.
A police spokesman said: “These events cause a significant impact on local residents and businesses.
“We are encouraging people to take personal responsibility on the roads, and we will not tolerate any dangerous driving.
“Extra resources will also be utilised and deployed to these car meets. Anyone engaging in dangerous and anti-social driving will be dealt with at the scene or video footage will be used to take retrospective action.
“Officers also want to remind people that gatherings of more than 30 people are still banned under coronavirus restrictions.”
If anyone spots signs of these types of events, report it by calling 101.
