Police have taken photographic evidence of four mattresses which were 'disgracefully dumped' at the side of a road.
On Tuesday afternoon, while on patrol in Out Rawcliffe near Great Eccleston, officers spotted the four mattresses at the side of Lancaster Road close to Brook Farm.
One had even been discarded into the carriageway causing obstruction.
The police say they have reported the matter to Wyre Council and are asking anyone who knows anything about the fly-tipping to get in touch.
A spokesperson for the force said: "This afternoon, June 8, whilst on patrol in Out Rawcliffe, I came across four mattresses disgracefully dumped on the side of the road at Lancaster Road near to Brook Farm; one of them had dangerously dropped into the carriageway.
"Did you evidence the fly-tipping, or perhaps you have recently employed someone to remove the mattresses for you?
"Please ring us on 101 quoting log number 1108 of June 8 with information.
"The matter has already been reported to Wyre Council."
