IT was once one of the key stations on the rail network around East Lancashire with its own engine shed and sidings which were tremendously busy during the era of steam.
By 1981 when this photo was taken Rose Grove station at Burnley was of a lesser importance but you can see see the many lines which used to be part of the station in its heyday.
A first station opened at Rose Grove in 1848.
