A boxer is to flip a car for 24 hours non-stop to help raise money for Blackburn charities.

Bill Hodgson is no stranger to taking on gruelling challenges having pulled a sleigh complete with Santa between Fleetwood and Kirkham this Christmas.

He is now planning to flip a car for 24 hours on Saturday June 12 and set a new record in the process. The charities benefitting from the fundraiser include the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, Lancashire Mind, Donna’s Dream House, New Start, ACE and UR Potential.

In addition to this, money raised will assist 8-year-old Malachy Spriggs who suffers from several life-limiting conditions. The team want to buy an off-road buggy so he can visit the countryside.

Bill said: “I am looking forward to the challenge and seeing if I can push the boundaries to complete the world record attempt. I am overwhelmed by the community support throughout Lancashire helping us help others.”'Lancashire Telegraph:

Imtiaz Ali,  known to many as Pops Ali, from 'We Love Blackburn' who is helping to plan the challenge said: “It is great to see Bill attempting this world record 24hour car flip all in the name of charity.

“This challenge is sure to push Bill to the absolute limits of what is possible and we hope that everyone can continue to support him in another insane challenge.

“There are a number of charities that Bill is going to raise money for. They are all desperate for funds after these last few months, and we hope that you can dig deep for some incredible causes.

“A huge thank you to all the local businesses who are sponsoring Bill.”

Bill is managing director at Praetorian Security Solutions and also a boxer and last June flipped a large tyre for 24 hours at Kirkham Business Park.

During Christmas, Bill raised £60,000 by pulling a sleigh 26 miles. He dedicated the fundraiser to security guard and friend Dave Purcell who had passed away just when the challenge was due to begin.
