FIVE of East Lancashire’s six boroughs remain firmly in the top 10 places in the country with the highest infection rates.

Everywhere bar Pendle features in the list, with Blackburn with Darwen still recording the highest rate in the country after 833 new cases were detected in the seven days to June 4.

Rossendale has the thirds highest rate after 251 new cases were discovered, with Burnley in fourth and Hyndburn in fifth.
