IN Sixties’ Blackburn if you were looking for a late night flutter then the Regency Casino was the place to go.
Situated on Regent Street the club may have had a gambling licence but for much of its life it doesn’t appear to have had an alcohol licence.
So did punters who climbed the stair to get the to upper floor of the premises to play roulette, cards or dice do without? You’d probably be best to talk to those who were there!
The club certainly had a ‘reputation’. This picture taken in 1969 has a caption stating - the Regency Club, shortly after the stabbing!
