Seven pop-up vaccination sites are being set up in East Lancashire as infection rates continue to increase in the area.

More clinics are being brought to Nelson, Colne, Blackburn, Brierfield and Burnley to give people the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

This comes as Blackburn with Darwen has recorded the highest rate of new cases of Covid-19 in the UK with a rate of 416.2 cases per 100,000.

Rossendale, Ribble Valley and Hyndburn are all now in the top five top five biggest week-on-week increases in case rates in the UK.

Vaccination Director for Lancashire and South Cumbria, Jane Scattergood said: “These pop-up vaccination sites mean people have more opportunities to get their vaccination at a time and place that suits them. As long as you are eligible, please come forward.
