Fire fighters helped to rescue two people from the River Calder near Padiham.
The incident happened just after 1am on Sunday morning (23 May) when three fire engines from Padiham and Burnley, along with the swift water rescue team from Penwortham, attended a water rescue on Burnley Road.
Two casualties who were rescued from the water and placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service.
Firefighters used swift water rescue equipment, two triple extension ladders, and small tools during the incident. They were in attendance for approximately one and a half hours.
