ELIGIBLE people over the age of 18 are being invited to have their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine at Revidge Fold Church, Blackburn from 9am tomorrow.

The site, located on Shear Brow, is to be open for all eligible adults and will be run by Everest Pharmacy, who are experienced in delivering doses of vaccine across the North West.

A spokesperson for the pharmacy said: "Because no-one in the community is aware of this, we're expecting to have no patients tomorrow and that's largely because this has happened so quickly.

"We're trying to push people in the community to come forward and get the vaccine, because a lot still haven't had it.

"It's really important that we make people aware of the site opening up and to get as many people vaccinated as we can."

To be deemed eligible, a person must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Aged 36 and over
  • Aged 18 and over with any underlying health conditions
  • Aged 18 and over AND living, caring or working with anyone with underlying health conditions
  • Health and Social Care staff
  • Any carers - paid or unpaid. You will not be asked for proof as unpaid carers are eligible.
