A man has been arrested after he crashed his car and then provided a positive test for cannabis.

At around 2.45pm on Monday, police were called to a crash on Hutch Bank Road just off the Grane Road at Haslingden.

Reports suggested a car was on its roof and was blocking the junction.

It is not believed the driver was seriously injured in the incident, but officers conducted a roadside drugs wipe, which came back positive for cannabis.

A spokesperson for the road police said: "RTC just off the Grane Road, Haslingden.

"Driver, who has failed a drug wipe testing positive for cannabis, has been arrested after rolling his car."

The police confirmed there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and it is not believed anyone else was hurt.

A spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.45pm to reports that one car had rolled over on Hutch Bank Road and the road was blocked.

"The crash was down as minor injuries."
