TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing and supplying class B drugs.

They were near Darwen Railway Station at lunchtime today, Wednesday May 12, when police stopped to search them.

It was discovered that both had been in possession of cannabis and burner phones which led to both suspects being arrested for possessing a class B drug.

Further investigation and numerous address searches resulted in both men being further arrested for being concerned in the supply of both class A and class B drugs with the investigation ongoing.

A spokesman for police said: "Drugs and drug dealing is our priority in Darwen and this was determined by the residents of Darwen.

"The Neighbourhood Taskforce are currently operating in Darwen and you and your neighbours can identify issues in your streets and neighbourhoods via In The Know.

"In The Know is a website and app that is accessible by residents and completing a quick survey can convey your issues with us.

"We will post updates on our progress giving you an insight as to how we respond to you concerns.

"The Neighbourhood Taskforce is committed to stopping drug use and the supply of drugs because it has been determined by you. "
