An imposing new Renault and Dacia showroom built off one of Blackburn’s busiest routes is now open to the public.

The Stoneacre Garage has been built where the Larkhill Health Centre was formerly located. The health centre which opened in 1968 was demolished in June 2015 and the land lay vacant for a period of time.

Construction for the new showroom based off Barbara Castle Way and Quarry Street began two years ago and was completed earlier this month. It takes up 535 square meters of space and was built at a cost of £1.3 million.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Michael Howe, Regional Manager at Stoneacre said: “We have faced challenges with Covid and lockdowns. It was worth the wait as the showroom looks fantastic.

“We chose this location as we wanted to keep Renault and Dacia close to the town Centre and conveniently we had the space to add the franchise to our existing busy site at Stoneacre Vauxhall Blackburn.”

Michael said the site has designated charging points for the electric cars and vans and will also specialise in commercial vehicles. It has a fully designated service department ‘for all types of vehicle repairs and state of the art bodyshop’.

A special launch event is due to take place in June.

Michael said: “The site is in a raised location on the busy roundabout and stands out in the Renault and Dacia bold vibrant colours the showroom holds 12 new cars with a special designated handover area. The showroom boasts state of the art facilities including a breakfast bar, a customer negotiation pod and a customer lounge cinema waiting area.”

The roundabout at Eanam has seen a major transformation in recent years with the German Doner Kebab restaurant launching in April. A wedding and events venue will be located upstairs from the restaurant.
