A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a smash between a car and a lorry.
The woman, who is in her 80s and was driving the car, was injured in the crash, which took place at around 11am on Monday.
It is not believed anyone else was injured.
The incident took place on Amounderness Way close to the roundabout in Thornton Cleveleys, with police closing the road in both directions between Morrisons and Norcross Lane/Fleetwood Road South.
A spokesperson for the police said: "It looks like two vehicles (a car and a lorry) and a pedestrian were involved in a collision.
"The driver of the car has gone to hospital with serious injuries.
"We are not sure if there are any other injuries.
"The road is closed both ways between Norcross and Morrisons."
An ambulance, rapid response vehicle and an advanced paramedic were sent to the crash.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We attended an RTC on Amounderness Way, following a 999 call at 11.17am.
"We have taken a woman in her 80s to hospital."
