A SUSPECTED drug dealer has been arrested after he was found in possession of a large amount of cash.
On Saturday, officers saw a vehicle on Chapel Street, Brierfield, and had cause to search the occupants.
One of them, a male aged 22 from Brierfield, was found in possession of a large amount of cash and a mobile phone.
A further search whilst at the police station revealed that the male had secreted class A drugs on his person. The male is now spending the night in custody awaiting interview.
A police spokesman said: “The Pendle Taskforce remain committed to tackling the issues caused by drug dealing within our communities and will work diligently in order to tackle this problem in our area.
“We rely on eagle eyed members of the public and the information that they provide to us in order to tackle serious and organised crime.
“If you have any information regarding drug dealing or any other matters of concern then this can be reported to us via 101. Alternatively if you would like to remain anonymous then you can report this to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
