THE trust which runs Furness General was caring for nine coronavirus patients in its hospitals as of Tuesday, figures show.
NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in University Hospitals Of Morecambe Bay Trust sites for Covid-19 by 8am on May 4 was up from eight on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at the trust occupied by people who tested positive fell by 47 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 17.
The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has fallen by 58 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 60 per cent.
The figures also show that five new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in University Hospitals Of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust in the week to May 2.
This was up from two in the previous seven days.
