This photo from 1967 shows another ‘lost’ feature of Accrington town centre. workmen are dismantling one of the two fountains which were situated on Broadway for a time.
In the background you can make out the distinctive shape of the outdoor market and on the left of the photo, the seats and flower beds which lined Broadway.
