Punters in East Lancashire have been determined to support pubs and enjoy a boozy bank holiday Monday despite heavy rain across the county.

Most pubs have decided to close their doors today as the rain is set to continue all day, but some customers have still attempted to venture out to support their local pub and enjoy a rare Monday tipple.

Until the past few days where the weather has changed dramatically, pubs have been very lucky with the weather while they have only been allowed to welcome customers outdoors.

In Chorley, customers at the Red Lion are keeping themselves under cover as the pub has remained open despite the conditions.

The pub has recently confirmed that they will stop serving food at 3pm as the rain continues.

Although they are closed to the public, the staff at the Old Black Bull in Old Langho wanted to get in on the fun and have recorded a video singing and dancing in the rain.

The pub is offering a takeaway service today to avoid customers having to brave the elements.

In Rawtenstall, customers at Hops Micropub on Bank Street did brave the weather for some time but as the rain continued to pour, the pub has now decided to close the doors until a better day.
