It was a busy night for the police's Tac Ops teams on Friday as they dealt with a number of stolen vehicle related incidents.

The first was an Audi S3 which had been reported stolen from Manchester on Thursday.

On Friday evening, officers found the car had crashed into a lamppost on Montague Street in Blackburn.

It was also discovered to have been on false plates.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The Audi S3 was stolen yesterday from the Manchester area.

Meanwhile, officers in Pendle pursued a stolen van from Halifax as it travelled into Colne.

The van crashed, and four men wearing balaclavas got out and ran off into the dark.

Unfortunately for them, police dog, PD Franks was on hand to sniff them out, and managed to track the suspects for more than a mile across farmland to a reservoir where the men, all from Bradford, were arrested.
