Police are appealing for information after two businesses were burgled overnight.

Between the hours of 3.30am and 8am on Thursday, two businesses on Tontine Street in Blackburn were burgled.

It is not known which businesses were affected and what, if any, items were stolen but police are now asking other business premises in the area to check their security.

PC Emma Lougheed for Blackburn East said: "If you own a local business, we'd encourage you to take a moment to review your security and make sure it's as effective as it can be.

"Our website has lots of information and tips that have been specifically tailored towards businesses - just follow the link here lancashire.police.uk/help-advice/keeping-your-business-safe.aspx."

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time the burglary happened is urged to contact the police on 101 quoting log reference 0424 of April 29.
