A beauty salon is giving out free vouchers to parents at pick up time to thank them for the efforts while home-schooling during lockdown.

Pure Indulgence on Bolton Road have donated 20 vouchers for treatments at the salon to the Reedemer School, on Jack Walker Way, as an act of kindness.

The salon, run by owner Amy Greenberg, will see 20 lucky parents book appointments for their treatment as a reward for their hard work during lockdown, as well as discounts for teachers from the school on particular treatments.

Marketing manager, Leah Smith said: "We wanted to spread some happiness and smiles to parents who maybe front line workers, single parents, parents who maybe struggling financially and parents who may need a pick me up.

"This kindness is to show the public we are all in this together and with each other’s support we can continue to fight against Covid.

"We want to show we are thankful towards teachers, front line workers and the difficulties parents may have had during home schooling."

Despite the struggles the business has faced because of the pandemic, the salon wanted to give back to a community who has been supportive to them through hard times.

The treatments include back neck and shoulder massages, lash extensions, spray tans and gel nail extensions to help relieve some of the stress parents will have built up through home schooling.

Due to guidelines, the school will be handing out the vouchers and Amy and Leah have asked that they are given to parents who have struggled more than others, whether it being that they are balancing a lot at once or have lost their job due to the pandemic.

Headteacher at the Redeemer school, Mrs Michelle Smith said: "It's a lovely act of kindness from a local businesses. It gives is all a boost because it's been such a difficult time

"We are trying to instil acts of kindness into our children so it's lovely that a local business has taken time out to do that."
