BURNLEY Cemetery is to get electric mowers.
The move will reduce carbon dioxide emissions compared to the current petrol powered machines.
Burnley Council's finance boss Cllr Sue Graham has authorised spending £10,000 from the borough's Climate Change Budget on the new electric mowers
She said: "The scheme will contribute to the objectives of reducing CO2 emissions.
"I have approved the recommendation of the cross-party Climate Change Working Group regarding the allocation of £10,000 from the Climate Change Budget towards the purchase of electric mowers for Burnley Cemetery."
