FIRE crews have issued a warning against people starting small fires as they went out six times in one night.

The fires all around Blackburn last night were small rubbish and grass fires started deliberately, although nobody was found near any at the time crews arrived.

After spending around 20 minutes at each one, a spokesman for the fire service said: "We ask people not to start these small fires and to dispose of them properly.

"We know restrictions have eased and lockdown has ended but please be mindful."

The fires all took place from yesterday late evening and crews described being 'all over the place.'
