A CAR boot sale has announced that it is to be discontinued after nearly 30 years in the business.
Elaine's Car Boot Sale, based off Millennium Way, next to the M61 motorway in Chorley has been one of the biggest events of its kind in the North West over the course of its 28 year existence.
However, the land has now been leased to a new client, meaning that the sale can no longer continue.
In a statement the organisers said: "It is with great disappointment that we are announcing the discontinuation of Elaine's Car Boot sale."
They added: "Whether you just came for the day out or were a regular seller, we thank you for attending over the years.
"Unfortunately, the land has been leased to another person, and so continuation of the Car Boot will not occur.
"Elaine would like to thank everyone who worked on the car boot and all the sellers and buyers who brought the car boot to life.
"Thank you for taking the time out of your day to join us."
