AN ELEVEN-year old-girl was rushed to hospital after being hit by a pick-up truck while riding a kart yesterday.
Police were called at around 8.50pm to the junction of Blackthorn Lane and Gordon Street in Bacup where they found the girl had been hit by a Ford Ranger.
She had suffered from serious leg injuries and was taken to Manchester Children's Hospital. The driver of the Ford Ranger, a man in his 30s, was unharmed.
Sergeant Mick Belfield said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Bacup which left an 11-year-girl with serious injuries.
“If you have any information or saw what happened, please contact us.”
