The driver of a BMW has been summonsed to court after being caught driving at excessively high speeds on a busy stretch of motorway.
On Sunday, officers from the North West Motorway Police spotted the dangerous driver on the M6 northbound driving exceedingly fast, and decided to follow the vehicle.
After clocking the motorist reaching speeds of between 100 and 140mph, officers pulled the driver over and proceeded to read him his rights.
A spokesperson for the police said: "This vehicle was followed on the M6 northbound at speeds of 100 to 140mph.
"The driver has now been reported for summons."
